This almond milk recipe is delicious and really affordable to make. If you've been drinking dairy-free milk alternatives for a while, you'll know that some of them are especially watery and tasteless. This is definitely the case when it comes to store-bought almond milk. I could never get myself into it.
So why make your own dairy-free almond milk?
Apart from the hormone-health benefits which I discuss on my Youtube channel, store bought mylks (dairy-free milk) have so many added chemicals! There's no need to be ingesting many unknown substances when all you want is a bit of milk. We have no idea what adverse health effects these chemicals are having in our bodies.
I have found a super easy and cheap way to make almond milk from home. So if you're into it, check out this recipe below! It's delicious and can be customised to meet your creamy desires.

CREAMY ALMOND MYLK RECIPE
Ingredients
1 - 2 tablespoons pure unsweetened almond butter*
pinch of salt (sea salt or pink Himalayan salt)
2 drops Stevia liquid sweetener**
1 drop natural vanilla essence
500ml water
Method
Place all ingredients in a blender
Blitz it all up for 30s until nice and frothy
Voilà, all done!
Notes
* A whole tub of almond butter can be a bit pricy. I often like to buy the nut butter sachets by Oh Mega or Buttanut, which can be found at the Wellness Warehouse or Dischem. Both brands sell these for about R14 per sachet.
**If you haven't got liquid stevia, you can use dates instead. Soak dry dates for 1 hour minimum in boiled water before combining with the rest of the ingredients. If using fresh dates, skip the soaking step.
